Sun, Sept 4 - Tues, Sept 6 - We spent Labor Day weekend doing chores and taking advantage of Green Turtle Bay and the surrounding area's amenities.  Highlights include: Joining Leanne & Walt in the GTB courtesy car to check out the Bison & Elk Reserve at Land Between the Lakes.  The critters made themselves pretty scarce, but it was a lovely drive-through nature preserve.  Next, we visited Calvert City's Walmart for provisions. Hailing the GTB golfcart transportation to visit the famous Patti's for dinner with Leanne & Walt. Both washers & dryers were available, so I was able to do all of our laundry lickety split! Our friends, Chery & Scott stopped by on their return from Nashville for the weekend. 2 Dinners at Marty & Brenda's lovely home! Wed, Sept. 7 - After refueling (thank you GTB for the .15/gal, Looper discount), and topping off our water, we're off to check out Barkley & KY Lakes for a couple of days.  First stop, Hu-B's in

Thurs, September 1 - Angelo Towhead to Paducah City Dock (47.1 miles) .  Volition was the first to pull anchor from Angelo Towhead followed by Port-A-Gee then Journey.  We began our trip upstream on the Ohio river at MM 981.  One of the positives of the Mississippi was the little push we got from the current, we'll be giving it all back as we go against the grain until we get to the Cumberland. Rhonda on Volition shared some pics she took while we were underway - Thanks Rhonda!! At MM 964 we entered Olmstead Lock - this time we were going UP.  That was pretty much the most excitement we experienced on the water this day.  Aside from the current, there was little discernable differences between the MS and OH (at least from my perspective), still lots of barge traffic and riverbanks - but it's better than a day at the office! The Paducah City dock was in our sites at MM933.  We had already reserved a spot for the night through Dockwa.  When we arrived, another Canadian Looper,

Friday, August 26 - Monday August 29  - Alton Marina (MM 203).  We know a good deal when we spot one.  We could not pass up another 2-for-1 deal, plus there was a party on Saturday, so we decided to extend our stay 2 more days - FOMO!! We enjoyed our stay at Alton Marina and took advantage of all of its amenities.  We spent several afternoons cooling ourselves at the pool and imbibing some yummy cocktails from their walk-up deli/bar. Saturday morning's Farmer's Market did not disappoint, its great having some fresh produce and baked goods on the boat!  There's a nice, pretty flat bike/running path that runs along the river.  I enjoyed a couple of very hot runs! Saturday night, Loopers were plentiful at Alton Marina's 26-year anniversary party.  The band was incredible, as well as the BBQ. Crews of (L to R): (back) Surface Interval III, Port-A-Gee, Journey, Navigator, & Luvit Sunday was grocery and laundry day. I went to the office to inquire about the location and l
